A carjacker from Maryland who targeted high-end vehicles throughout the DMV region will spend years in prison for a series of incidents, federal authorities announced.
Hagerstown native Carlos Guardado-Eagle, 22, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for a series of armed carjackings and an attempt that was thwarted back in 2022.

Jenaro Torres, 26, Emens Rho, 39, and Stephanie Paulino, 35, are all facing charges following an investigation into the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Kevin Michael Shepherd early on Friday, Jan. 26 in Hagerstown.

A Hagerstown man has been charged with setting fire to his brother's utility trailer hauling brush this week, authorities announced.
Christian Reyes Torres, 25, had been staying with his brother but was asked to leave on Thursday, Dec. 14, the State Fire Marshal's Office said.
Torres later returned and began arguing with family members, and threatened to burn down the house, officials said.
