Cantaloupes Shipped To DMV Region Being Recalled For Salmonella Concerns
Thousands of cases of whole cantaloupes - many of which were shipped to the DMV region - are subject to a new recall, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced. Arizona-based Eagle Produce is voluntarily recalling 6,456 cases of cantaloupe that may be contaminated with Salmonella following a test at an FDA distribution center. Specifically, the recall includes Kandy whole cantaloupes with the UPC number code of 4050 on the package and lot codes of: 797901; 797900; 804918. DMV Resident Among Those Sickened By Eating Raw Flour Amid Nationwide Salmonella Outbreak
Federal investigators are working to identify a specific brand of flour that is linked to a salmonella outbreak that sickened at least one person in Virginia. A salmonella outbreak connected to raw flour has infected 12 people in 11 different states, with three forced to be hospitalized due to their illness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Roy McGrath Killed During Encounter With FBI: Reports
A three-week manhunt for former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan's chief of staff came ended on Monday, April 3 with his shooting death in an encounter with federal agents in Tennessee, his attorney tells various news outlets including CBS and CNN. Roy McGrath had been wanted since March 13 when he failed to show up to trial for federal fraud in Baltimore. Several people were taken to area hospitals with various injuries when their overseas flight had to be diverted to Washington Dulles International Airport on Wednesday night due to severe turbulence. Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh has announced that his Consumer Protection Division as well as 39 other attorneys general have reached a $391.5 million multi-state settlement with Google over its location tracking practices relating to Google Account settings. Suspect From Tennessee Arrested In DC For Threatening Victim While Armed
A 21-year-old from Tennessee was arrested in D.C. for threatening a victim while armed on Wednesday, August 24, police said.Just before 1:30 p.m. the suspect approached an individual in the 1700 block of New Hampshire Avenue and threatened the victim with a handgun, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
