Maryland State Police helicopters were busy in neighboring West Virginia on Sunday. A state police helicopter crew crossed state lines twice on Sunday to rescue three people in a pair of back-to-back hoist missions on Sunday, Aug. 13. The long day began shortly after 7:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, when crews were called to a stretch of woods in Tucker County, where a father suffered an injury while hiking with his 13-year-old son the day before.
