1 Dead In Chesapeake Bay Boat Crash One person died and another was injured when two boats collided on the Chesapeake Bay Saturday night, Aug. 19, fire officials said. Multiple agencies including the Calvert County Sheriff responded to the scene after the 9:40 p.m. crash 2.25 miles off Breezy Point, the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department said. A rescue boat brought the victims to land. CPR was performed on one of the victims, who was in cardiac arrest. That victim died after being taken to Capitol Regional Hospital. Maryland State Police Airlift Injured Cargo Ship Worker From Chesapeake Bay To Trauma Center The US Coast Guard needed an assist from Maryland State Police troopers after a man suffered an injury and had to be rescued from a cargo ship in the Chesapeake Bay.  Investigators say that the Abtenauer Bulk Carrier Cargo Ship was in the area of Stevensville when a worker fell more than 10 feet from a ladder and needed to be rushed to an area hospital. The incident was reported at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Monday, July 17. A Maryland State Police helicopter out of Middle River was called to the ship to hoist the worker approximately 120 feet from the deck of the boat to safety. …
