Two-Alarm Apartment Fire Leaves One Injured, Displaces Residents In Maryland (Developing) First responders in Washington County made some bold rescues after a two-alarm fire broke out in a three-story Hagerstown apartment on Friday morning. Shortly after 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, crews from the Hagerstown Fire Department were called to the 100 block of East Washington Street, where there was reports of smoke coming from the building with people trapped inside. Upon arrival, firefighters found a blaze on the second floor of the building, and at least one resident of the apartment had to be rescued from a window on the front of a building.
