HAZMAT: Asphalt Spills On US-15, PennDOT Officials Say (Update) A tanker truck carrying bituminous oil, commonly known as asphalt, crashed on US Route 15 on Thursday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.  The truck blew a tire and veered off US 15 going into the woods — spilling asphalt the entire time, according to PennDOT spokesperson Frizti Schreffler.  The crash happened in the northbound lanes near mile marker 19.4 in Tyrone Township around 8 a.m. on Aug. 17, as shown on 511pa.  Shortly after that crash, there was a crash (that possibly was due to rubbernecking) in the southbound lanes. PA Man ID'd In I-81 Motorcycle Crash: Authorities A 65-year-old motorcyclist has died in a crash on Interstate 81, authorities say.  Mark "Doc" Brown of Greencastle was riding a 2020 Harley-Davidson FLHXS Street Glide Specia when he went off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck the guide rail at mile marker 13.5 on I-81 in Guilford Township and the call about motorcyclist came into dispatch at 7:11 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police.  The Franklin County Coroner’s Office was soon called to the scene, according to dispatch.  All lanes were closed between Exit 14 at Wayne Avenue and Exit 10 at Mari…

Fatal Motor Home Crash On I-81 In PA, Authorities Say (Update) A deadly crash shuttered part of Interstate 81 on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, authorities say.  The multi-vehicle crash happened near mile marker 5 in Antrim Township around 11 a.m., according Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Megan Frazer.  The northbound lanes closed at exit 5 to Greencastle and Waynesboro, according to 511PA. Northbound traffic was being detoured off the highway at exit 5, according to Frazer. All lanes reopened around 2:30 p.m., according to PennDOT spokesperson  Fritzi Schreffler.
