A purported gang member in Virginia has been convicted of a violent drive-by shooting in April last year in Prince William County, the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney announced. Sean Hughes, Jr., a member of the Bloods, has been found guilty of shooting into a Triangle home in the 3500 block of Wharf Lane that sent a woman to the hospital with serious injuries. The search for an escaped Washington DC murder suspect remains active a day after Danelo Cavalcante's capture. Christopher Haynes, a Manassas, VA native charged in the Aug. 12 murder of Brent Hayward, escaped from the George Washington University Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 6. A 19-year-old men fell to his death through an icy pond in Prince William County on Christmas Eve, authorities said. Fire and rescue officials found the man in a pond near the 6000 block of Erinblair Loop in the Piedmont community in Haymarket just before 10 p.m., police tell Daily Voice. A person of interest has been identified and is speaking with police following a fatal shooting in a Virginia home that left four dead. Amazon Buys Land In Northern Virginia For $87.8 Million
Google and Microsoft have a new neighbor in Prince William County. Reports said Amazon recently purchased nearly 60 acres of land to in Gainesville for nearly $90 million. BizJournal announced earlier this week that Amazon Web Services had purchased the land at 5845 Wellington Road for $87.8 million. The report said AWS purchased the same-sized lot next door for $52.4 million last year.
