Popular Police Officer Killed In Crash With Box Truck In Maryland A veteran police officer in Maryland died when he accidentally rear-ended a box truck this week in Queen Anne's County, authorities said. Sam Ferracane, 53, who worked for the Federalsburg and more recently the Centreville police departments, died when he rear-ended the vehicle at a light on Queen Anne Highway around 9 a.m. Monday, May 22, State Police said. Vigil For Fallen Baltimore Police Officer To Move Forward After Being Previously Canceled A vigil honoring a fallen Baltimore police officer will be held after being rescheduled due to weather, authorities announce. A vigil for Keona Holley, who was shot and killed in the line of duty in Dec. 2021, will be held on Friday, Jan. 20, announce Baltimore officials.  The vigil honoring Holley's life and legacy was originally scheduled for Dec. 2022, but was moved due to inclement weather.  The vigil will be held in the Intersection of Hazel Street and Pennington Avenue at 4:30 p.m.

Services Set For Maryland Sheriff's Deputy Killed In The Line Of Duty The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has announced plans for Deputy First Class Glenn Hilliard, who was killed on the job while attempting to apprehend a wanted fugitive. Hilliard’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 21 at noon at the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church on Beaglin Park Drive in Salisbury, with a public viewing for two hours prior to the service. Information regarding road closures and further instructions are expected to be released by the sheriff’s office over the next few days in advance of the funeral.
