A major retailer primarily located in malls and headquartered in Pennsylvania is set to close all 543 of its stores following its third Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Closures for all rue21 locations are expected to be completed within the next two months with going-out-of-business sales coming soon. The company, headquartered in Pennsylvania outside Pittsburgh, had first filed for bankruptcy in 2003, and then for a second time in 2017, when it closed around 400 stores. Support is surging for the family of Trenton Benner, U.S. Army soldier and Maryland dad of five who died on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Trent, as he was affectionately known, was raised in Chambersburg, PA but lived in Union Bridge, MD and — according to his obituary — had been serving active duty for the Army at the time of his death. Missing Chambersburg Teen With Maryland Ties: Pennsylvania State Police
The second girl from Chambersburg and the fourth Pennsylvania teenage girl has been reported as missing by Pennsylvania state police in a release on Tuesday, January 10. Kylese Anna Seman, 15, was last seen in the Chambersburg area on Jan. 9, according to the release. Her current whereabouts are unknown, the police say. Seman also has connections to Hagerstown, Maryland, the police detail in the release. Two Infants, Woman Killed, Six Hospitalized Following Crash At Pennsylvania-Maryland Stateline
Nine people from Chambersburg were in a deadly single-vehicle crash near the Pennsylvania-Maryland Stateline on Sunday, Dec. 4, authorities say. 59-year-old Mary Gordon lost control of her vehicle and crashed her 2018 Dodge Journey into a tree in the 5900 block of Little Cove Rd. at around 1:56 a.m., according to Pennsylvania state police. A teenage boy has been missing from his Chambersburg home for nearly two weeks, area police announced on Sunday Nov. 20.
