Mother Of Neglected Teen With Flesh-Eating Disease Sentenced For Daughter's Cobb Island Death The mother who neglected her 18-year-old daughter for years until she died in her bed will spend nearly a decade behind bars for her role in what one prosecutor called "the worst case I've ever seen."  Cobb Island resident Virginia Marie Stone, 46, has been sentenced to 10 years - with all but eight suspended - in prison after pleading guilty earlier this year to neglect of a vulnerable adult in March in connection to the death of her daughter.
