Scott stated he intends to impost the nighttime curfew for minors during the late spring and summer months after a 14-year-old and 16-year-old were shot in a massive fight near the Inner Harbor in the 400 block of East Pratt Street.

Investigators say that a fight broke out among the group of teens, prompting an arrest to be made. As officers were leading away the suspect, multiple shots were fired in the crowd filled with officers and teens.

Officers immediately canvassed the area and found a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old who had been shot in the crowd.

"I should not be talking to 10 and 11-year-olds on Pratt Street after a shooting happened where young people have been shot and they don't know where their parent is. That happened last night," said Scott.

A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested following the shooting. The 17-year-old had been previously thought to have had a weapon but was revealed to have not been armed. The 16-year-old did in fact have a weapon.

It is not clear if the 16-year-old is the person who shot into the crowd.

Mayor Scott is using a multiple-angle approach to combat the violence in the community by not only enforcing a teen curfew for the summer months but encouraging teens to get active with safe events provided by the city.

"It is not normal or okay for young people that young to be outside that late at night by themselves miles and miles and miles away from home", said Scott.

The city will offer summer camps and other events for the community's youth to be a part of, as well as offer money-making opportunities for teens.

The curfew for teens 14 and under will be 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. for teens under 17.
