Four Face Federal Indictment In Maryland For $3M Covid-19 Fraud Scheme
Four Maryland residents are facing federal indictment for a CARES Act COVID-19 unemployment fraud scheme that saw over $3 million in losses, officials say.
Three of the suspects had an initial court appearance in Baltimore on Thursday, July 21, while the fourth was scheduled to appear on Friday, July 22 in Florida.
Those facing charges:
Tyshawna Davis, 38, of Gwynn Oak;
Donna Jones, 55, of Cockeysville;
Devante Smith, 27, of Hanover;
Tila Woods, 44, of Baltimore.

A Maryland man will spend a decade behind bars after admitting to firing a "ghost gun" at multiple US Secret Service security guards during a parking dispute, federal officials announced.
Jeremiah Peter Watson, 24, of Hanover, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to assault of a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon, and using, carrying, or brandishing a firearm in relation to a violent crime.

A federal grand jury has returned charges to a Hanover man who allegedly sent top secret information to another person using his personal email, the US Attorney's Office for Maryland reports.
Mark Unkenholz, 60, "willfully transmitted" National Defense Information (NDI) to someone who was not entitled to receive it 13 times from February 14, 2018 to June 1, 2020, the office reports.
