Ravens Cornerback Jimmy Smith To Retire After 11 Seasons In Baltimore: Report
Cornerback Jimmy Smith announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, Oct. 3, after 11 solid years in Baltimore, the Ravens said.
Smith spent over a decade on the Ravens, despite several injuries, notably helping carry the team to win Super Bowl XLVII, in just his second season in the league, the team recalled.
The cornerback finished his career with 374 tackles, 74 passes defensed, 14 interceptions and three touchdowns. As a father of four, Smith said this is a good time to rest his body and leave the league just as he started: as a Raven.

NFL Legend Tony Siragusa Fell To Similar Fate As His Father: Report
Further details reveal that NFL legend, Tony "The Goose" Siragusa, has died in nearly the same manner as his father, whom he tried to save, TMZ reports.
Siragusa had reportedly been receiving CPR at a home in Toms River, NJ when the initial emergency call came in around 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, June 22. He was pronounced dead at the scene and a cause of death was not immediately determined.
Decades earlier, when Siragusa was 21, he performed CPR on his dad who suffered a massive heart attack, claiming his life at the age of 48, Siragusa said on an episode of Howard Stern.

Baltimore Native Gary Koch Remembered As Doting Dad, Sports Enthusiast (Tribute)
Baltimore native Gary Edward Koch died on Feb. 7, 2022. He was 36 years old.
Gary attended North County High School and enjoyed playing most sports from a young age, according to his obituary.
A lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Gary kept up on all of the statistics, and shared his love for the Baltimore Ravens with his son, Nathan, his obit says.
Gary's kids, Nathan and Sophia, were his pride and joy, according to a GoFundMe page for their educations that had raised more than $2,200 as of Feb. 16.
