Robberies Reported Hours Apart Near Anne Arundel Mall, Casino: Police

Two robberies were reported hours apart near a busy Maryland mall and casino, police say.

Officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department were called twice on Saturday night to the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover to investigate a pair of separate strong armed robberies involving a group of minors.

The incidents were reported near the Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland and Arundel Mills Mall.

According to police, at around 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 20, officers were initially called after a man was approached by several boys who pinned him to the wall and stole his began before fleeing on foot.

No injuries were reported.

Hours later, at around 7:30 p.m., a separate investigation was launched after there was a reported assault involving several teenagers.

Police say that in that instance, a small group was approached by unknown teenagers who were asking for drugs. When they stated that they had no drugs, they were assaulted by several other people who took shoes and clothes from their victims.

They then fled the area.

It is unclear if the incidents are related.
