Victim Dies 7 Months After Being Shot; Suspected Shooter Held Without Bail The victim of a summertime shooting has just died, according to the Worcester County District Attorney, and a suspect in the man’s death has been arraigned in court. Jose A. Merced, 32, of Worcester, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 30, about 13 hours after the shooting victim had died, DA Joseph D. Early, Jr., said in a statement. The initial violence took place on July 9 around 5 p.m. on Mount Pleasant Street.
