New Jersey's lieutenant governor, hand-picked by Gov. Mikie Sherrill, resigned from his post on Friday afternoon, Sept. 25, following the release of a 61-page report detailing his inappropriate behavior with women, the governor announced at a press conference.

A Pennsylvania man who survived being shot twice during the 2024 assassination attempt on President Donald Trump has died two years after the attack.
James “Jim” Copenhaver, 76, of Moon Township, Allegheny County, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, according to the Republican Committee of Allegheny County. His death was announced publicly Thursday, Sept. 24, by U.S. House Republicans. A cause of death has not been released.

A man who police say twice violated an order of protection at a New York business led officers on a chase that ended with a crash and a standoff, authorities announced Monday, Sept. 21.
The incident began at Beer Universe, 16 West Avenue, in Saratoga Springs around 3:39 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, when local police were called for a man attempting to speak with someone inside the store despite a full stay-away order of protection, according to the department.
