The White House Correspondents' Dinner was disrupted Saturday, April 25, after gunshots were reported at the Washington Hilton while President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and more than 2,000 guests were at the event.

A Connecticut native stunned the field in his first-ever marathon, smashing a long-standing course record and securing a spot in the 2028 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials.
Ryan Smith, from Westport, crossed the finish line first at the Vermont City Marathon in Burlington on May 24, posting a time of 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 52 seconds. His performance broke the 24-year-old course record by 1 minute and 10 seconds.
He led the field of 1,834 runners for the entire 26.2 miles and earned $2,400 for the win.

Invasive species are expected to keep spreading as people boat, camp, garden, move firewood, ship goods, and travel across the country.
The US Geological Survey says invasive species are already transforming ecosystems across the US, damaging infrastructure, hurting agriculture, threatening native wildlife, and increasing wildfire risks.
The USGS Register of Introduced and Invasive Species lists 8,527 records for the lower 48 states alone, along with 545 for Alaska and 5,628 for Hawaii.

A reality TV star known to millions of viewers has been found dead.
Matt Brown, who appeared on the Discovery Channel’s "Alaskan Bush People," was found dead in Washington state on Saturday, May 30, his family announced. He was 42.
Brown’s brother, Solomon Isaiah "Bear" Brown, confirmed the death in an Instagram video posted late Saturday, May 30.
