Rounds Of Rain, Thunderstorms Head East: What To Expect, When
A quiet late-summer break will not last long as a more unsettled pattern begins taking shape.
The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms will reach New England from Sunday evening, Aug. 30, into Monday, Aug. 31, as a front expands east from the northern Plains and Great Lakes.
Additional disturbances moving along the northern edge of a sprawling heat dome could produce several rounds of rain and thunderstorms from Tuesday, Sept. 1, into Wednesday, Sept. 2, according to the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center.
The storms will not arrive everywhere at once.

Abused Dog Found With Open Wounds, Fly Infestation In New York: Authorities
A Long Island man was arrested after his dog was found infested with flies and suffering from open wounds, authorities said.
Cecilio Matthews, 50, of Bellport, was charged with several counts of animal cruelty under state and county laws, the Suffolk County SPCA said Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Investigators determined earlier in the month that Matthews had failed to care for his 10-year-old mutt, Seven, leaving the dog neglected in a yard, according to the SPCA.
