Boat Fire Sends Up Smoke At CT Marina
Firefighters raced to a Connecticut marina after a blaze began inside a boat. The fire began in Middlesex County on Monday, Nov. 25 just before 12:30 p.m., when a boat was seen on fire at a marina in Old Saybrook, according to the Old Saybrook Fire Department. The boat had been on land while being stored for the off-season, firefighters said. The department's fireboat quickly responded to the scene and began fighting the blaze. The Red Cross is helping a Connecticut family of five who lost their home in a two-alarm blaze this weekend, authorities said. The fire began just before 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, on Country Hills Road in Hamden. Driver Jumps Out Of Passing Car To Help Resident Who Escaped From Seymour House Fire
A Connecticut resident received heavy burns to his head and face while escaping from his burning home. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Lynn Terrace around 6 p.m., Thursday, in Seymour. According to Seymour Fire Marshal Timothy Willis, when firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames and an injured resident who had "self-evacuated." Willis said a Good Samaritan had jumped out of a passing car to help neighbors get the man in his 60s to the ambulance. The unidentified man was transported to the Bridgeport Hospital Burn Unit.
