A Fort Lee woman accused of mistreating numerous pets was arrested last week for skipping a court date tied to multiple animal cruelty charges after multiple traffic violations in Rutherford, according to police and court records. Julia Daniltchenko, 44,of Fort Lee, was taken into custody in Rutherford on Monday, Nov. 25, Fort Lee police said. A search of the NJ Court system shows that Daniltchenko's arrest came after she failed to stop at a stop sign and was found with an expired driver's license in an unregistered car. Juvenile Sexually Assaulted By Cliffside Park Man In Fairview Repeatedly, Prosecutor Says
A 32-year-old Bergen County man has been arrested and charged with the sexual assault of a juvenile, authorities said. Wilmer Hernandez-Barrera, of Cliffside Park, is believed to have carried out the assault on Friday, Oct. 11 in Fairview, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Further investigation found that Hernandez-Barrera assaulted the juvenile, who was under 16, multiple times, Musella said. Police are investigating an unsettling incident involving an aggressive motorist who targeted a crossing guard while children were in the crosswalk last month. The driver of a red 2011 Chrysler 200 honked, yelled, and then slowly drove towards the crossing guard stationed at Rock Road and Maple Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, Glen Rock Police said. Bogota Hockey Player, 19, Dies In Fiery Route 80 Crash
A 19-year-old hockey player from Bergen County was killed after his car caught fire on Route 80 in Warren County on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 1, authorities said. At 8:21 p.m., a Hyundai SUV driven by Carmine Argenziano was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Hope Township when it veered off the right side of the roadway, hit multiple trees and then caught fire, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
