A broad severe thunderstorm watch has been issued across parts of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic as a volatile weather setup moves into the region.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center issued the watch shortly before 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, with the watch remaining in effect until 8 p.m.
