WESTON, Conn. -- Recent Weston High School graduate Carmine Magnoli competed in the Philadelphia Triathlon last weekend to raise money for cancer research.
The Olympic-distance race consisted of a 1.5K swim in the Schuykill River, a 40K bike ride and a 10K run. Magnoli, a standout on the Weston wrestling team last season, finished in 3:01.35.
Magnoli was a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Team in Training. He raised over $2,500 in donations to support life-saving cancer research. People can still make donations on Magnoli's fund-raising page.
