She said there has to be fiscal responsibility in town and said she will listen to residents' budget priorities, and find solutions to keep the mill rate from increasing while preserving the services and quality of life in Weston.
As a senior analyst in the global logistics market, Schlechter said she will bring a wealth of financial and planning experience to the Board and understands the complex dynamics of multi-million dollar budgets.
She currently works as a senior global planning analyst for Dorel Sports and has 15 years of experience at DHL as a senior analytics consultant and business analyst. She has a long history of community service at the Weston Farmers Market, on the Hurlbutt Security Committee, and for the Girls Scouts as well as Cub Scouts.
She and her husband, Michael Schlechter, have lived in Weston since 2002 and have two children attending Weston Public Schools.
“I am running for the Board of Finance because I love Weston and want to have more of an impact on the future of our town," she said. "As a member of the Board I will strive to keep taxes reasonable while maintaining services and our excellent schools.”
