Police: New Haven Woman Charged in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A New Haven woman was arrested by the Westport Police Department after responding to a request for aid from Weston.

At 4 a.m., Sunday morning the Weston police called Westport for assistance looking for a car burglary suspect in the area of a Lyons Plains Road in Weston. According to a report, a homeowner had interrupted a man entering the homeowner's car.

A Westport officer saw a man fitting the description of the suspect riding a bicycle on North Avenue. The report says that when the suspect saw the officer he jumped off the bicycle, which later was determined to be stolen, and ran into the woods near Fraser Lane.

The Westport Police K9 unit was called to the scene to continue the search. A vehicle was found parked around Meadow View Drive where. Jessica Jacobs, 28, was in the car and police determined that Jacobs had been waiting to pick up the suspect, who was not found.

Jacobs was held on $10,000 bond and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth-degree, criminal trespassing, and interfering with a police officer. She is due in court on July 11.
