State to Pick Up Storm Debris in Easton

EASTON, Conn. — Easton residents who live on state-maintained roads can have debris from the Oct. 29 storm collected under the state’s Debris Management Program

The program is open to all Easton residents who live on Routes 136, 58 and 59. It runs until Dec. 15.

Property owners can place their debris five feet from the edge of the pavement for pickup. The state is asking residents not to put debris near utility poles, wires, hydrants, mailboxes, sidewalks, signs or overhanging trees.

The Debris Management Program was developed to expedite storm cleanup. State crews will collect the debris by mid-December but have not yet set dates for specific municipalities. A schedule is expected soon.
