The heroine, Amanda Gallo, is a morning anchor at FAIR News, a cable news network that closely resembles FOX News.

Camerota said the novel is not a tell-all of her days at FOX. But it does touch on some familiar territory — including an egotistical TV star turned politician.

The book, which was published last week, is described as "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "Primary Colors" on Amazon.com. The review says it is a "wickedly funny debut novel about a bootstrapping young reporter who lands a plum job at a big-time cable news station and finds her ambitions and her love life turned upside down."

Camerota, who lives in Westport with her husband and three children, gave a long interview about her novel and her days at FOX News to the New York Times. Click here to read the story.
