CT Community On High Alert After Series Of Fox Attacks
Police and state environmental police are searching for an aggressive fox that attacked a man and a dog in Connecticut. The incidents occurred in Windham County on Monday, March 25 at several locations in the town of Putnam. According to the Putnam Police, around 3:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of 342 Church St. for the report of an aggressive fox, that attacked a man. Police said the fox attacked and attempted to bite at the man. Alert Issued After Coyotes Kill One Dog, Attack Another In New Canaan
Police are warning residents after separate incidents in which coyotes killed one dog and attacked another in New Canaan. Both incidents occurred in the southwest area of town, police said. The most recent attack occurred Thursday, Aug. 22 at around 7 a.m. An Adams Lane resident attempted to chase down two large coyotes when one of the coyotes grabbed, killed and ran off with a 13-pound chihuahua mix. Five Goats Killed After Bears Makes It Over Fence At Farm In CT
A Connecticut farmer and her family are mourning the loss of five goats to a bear. Grazin' Goats Farm, in Burlington, just west of Hartford, reported on its Facebook page, that five of its goats were killed on Monday, April 29, by a bear that climbed over a 6-foot fence. "It is with a heavy heart that I post this," said the farm's owner. "Yesterday we suffered a devastating loss." Agitated Hawk Goes On Attack, Injuring Two In Fairfield County
An agitated hawk has attacked at least two people and there have been another five complaints, according to Bridgeport City officials. The hawk first attacked and injured a man around 9:50 a.m. Tuesday in the area of 2200 East Main Street, officials said. Another person was attacked and injured later in the day and admitted themselves to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment. Coyote Kills Puppy In New Canaan
While there have been 11 bobcat sightings in New Canaan recently, its Police Department is pretty certain Friday night's fatal attack on a puppy involved a coyote. "I'm assuming it was a coyote," New Canaan Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm told Daily Voice on Tuesday, April 10. "They're very territorial and it was late at night." The small, 5-month-old puppy was killed along Smith Ridge Road, not far from a country club golf course. "Our pets are always at risk,'' Halm said.
