Tastes of Danbury Announces Fall Lineup Of Restaurants
Diners looking for delicious deals in Danbury are in luck. Taste of Danbury has announced the four restaurants participating in the fall season event that allows diners a chance to sample some of Fairfield County's best meals at a reduced price through the end of November. Western Connecticut State University in Fairfield County has closed for the day because of a water main break. The break took place in Danbury on the Westside early Friday, Jan. 19. According to college officials, both WestConn campuses -- Midtown on White Street and Westside off Lake Avenue Extension -- are closed. Danbury Cracks Down On Businesses Selling Alcohol To Minors
In an effort to cut down on underage drinking and determine compliance with state law a Fairfield County police force conducted a check of 47 businesses that sell alcohol. On Friday, Aug. 25, Danbury Police officers along with the Connecticut Department of Liquor Control conducted unannounced inspections of the businesses located within the city. Of the 47 businesses checked, eight sold alcohol to an underage minor, Det. Lt. David Pardovich of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division said. Popular School Administrator From Fairfield County Dies At 53
A popular school administrator in Northern Westchester and youth sports coach in Fairfield County has died at age 53. Brian Davidson was assistant principal at Fox Lane Middle School in Bedford who worked in the Bedford Central School District for 20 years. He also served as a guidance counselor during that time. Davidson had been on leave for the past year, according to BCSD Superintendent of Schools Christopher Manno. He died on Thursday, Aug. 16. Man Fleeing ICE Agents Hit By Police Car In Fairfield County
This story has been updated. A 24-year-old man was hit by a police car as he was running from federal immigration authorities who were attempting to arrest him. The incident unfolded Friday morning at the Danbury Superior Court where Samuel Cruz of Danbury was appearing in court on assault and disorderly conduct charges in connection with a domestic violence case, said Danbury Police Sgt.
