Danbury Water Main Break Closes Wcsu Campuses Western Connecticut State University in Fairfield County has closed for the day because of a water main break. The break took place in Danbury on the Westside early Friday, Jan. 19.  According to college officials, both WestConn campuses -- Midtown on White Street and Westside off Lake Avenue Extension -- are closed.  Level 1 staff (essential workers) are required to report at their normal work times. Danbury Cracks Down On Businesses Selling Alcohol To Minors In an effort to cut down on underage drinking and determine compliance with state law a Fairfield County police force conducted a check of 47 businesses that sell alcohol. On Friday, Aug. 25, Danbury Police officers along with the Connecticut Department of Liquor Control conducted unannounced inspections of the businesses located within the city.  Of the 47 businesses checked, eight sold alcohol to an underage minor, Det.
