2 Seriously Injured In Shelton Rollover Crash; CT Police Close Route 8 For Hours Connecticut State Police shut down a portion of Route 8 in Fairfield County Thursday morning, Jan. 30, after a car careened off the road, rolled over, and hit a utility police.  The crash was reported just after 9:30 a.m. in Shelton when the Honda Civic crossed three lanes of traffic and went off the road near Exit 11 Northbound. The crash took place around 1:10 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, in Fairfield County at the intersection of Putnam and Park streets in Bridgeport, said Bridgeport Police Sgt. Darryl Wilson. Car Crashes Into Pole Near School In Ridgefield A roadway was closed by police after a driver crashed into a utility pole near an area elementary school in Ridgefield. Police closed Barlow Mountain Road at the intersection of North Street at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5 after a driver struck the pole and felled wires near Scotland Elementary School. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash, with one reported injury. According to the Ridgefield Police Department, parents can use Ledges Road to access the Barlow Mountain School and Scotland School area.

The single-vehicle crash took place around 10 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, on Cross Highway at the intersection of Wildwood Lane, said officials with the Town of Westport Fire Department. Man Charged With Reckless Driving, Evading Police After Route 33 Crash Wilton police arrested a Fairfield man after he smashed his vehicle into a utility pole, losing a tire and wheel well and continued on his way. Christian Iannucci, 32, was driving his 2015 Subaru Outback on Westport Road when he lost control of the vehicle and hit the pole, the accident report said.  He then continued driving on three wheels and never reported the incident to police. Iannucci was arrested April 10 and charged with reckless driving, evading and failure to maintain proper lane. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 24.
