Police in Connecticut said a 30-year-old man who crashed into two scooter riders — killing one of them — was intoxicated at the time of the wreck last month. Francha J. Francis was arrested last week and charged with manslaughter with a vehicle in the second degree, operating under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and operating without a license, New London Police said on Monday, Nov. 11. Teen, Woman Hospitalized In Scooter Vs. Car Crash In New Canaan
A Connecticut 17-year-old boy and a 53-year-old woman were rushed to the hospital following a crash in Fairfield County, authorities said. Investigators are asking for witnesses of the incident. The wreck was reported just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at South Avenue near the northbound ramp for the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan, police said. An initial investigation found the woman's van was turning onto the parkway when it crashed into the teen's Vespa scooter, New Canaan police said. Man Critical After Falling Off Disabled Scooter In Easton
A man was seriously injured after falling off a disabled scooter in Fairfield County. The crash took place around 6:50 p.m., Tuesday, April 18 in Easton on Route 58 between Valley Road and Country Club Lane. According to Easton Police Chief Richard Doyle, the man's disabled scooter was being towed by another vehicle when he fell off and was seriously injured. Tens of thousands of scooters and hoverboards are being recalled nationwide due to faulty batteries that could pose a fire hazard and already led to the death of two young girls in the Northeast.
