Three Thieves Targeting New Canaan Ralph Lauren Store Take Cops On Chase, Hit Cruiser A trio of professional rip-off thieves who have allegedly been targeting the Ralph Lauren store in New Canaan got away after a high-speed chase and driving into a police vehicle.  The incident took place around 3:20 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, while a New Canaan officer was working a security assignment at the store located at 51 Elm St., said New Canaan Lt. Jason Ferraro. The store had hired off-duty security as a result of several recent larcenies that involved two black men and a black woman who would pull up in front of the store in a no-parking zone, Ferraro said.
