It happened on Saturday, Nov. 30 at about 10 a.m. in Mahopac. Mahopac Falls Fire, Heavy Rescue, EMS and Fire Police, in addition to multiple units from Carmel Police, EMStar paramedics and tow trucks responded to the crash on Baldwin Place Road in the area of the entrance to Mahopac Middle School, according to Jack Casey of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. All First-Graders Released From Hospital After Ceiling Collapses All students who were at the Madden Outdoor Education Center in Putnam County when a portion of the ceiling collapsed on Friday were released from Putnam Hospital Center by 3:30 p.m., said Ellen Lane, communications director of Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES. The students, first-graders from Fulmar Road Elementary School in Mahopac, were at Madden participating in a lesson on the food web when a portion of the ceiling gave way at 11:30 a.m.  A teacher notified Mahopac Central School district and called 911.
