First Snow Of Season Begins To Fall In Northern Fairfield County FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — It's winter! Or at least it looks like winter in parts of northern Fairfield County on Thursday morning as the first snow of the season began to fall. Tiny flurries began to fly in Danbury, Newtown and Brookfield and other northern towns at the start of the work day. Bethel Man Joins Forces With 'Mr. Robot' To Make Stop-Motion 'Mouse' Film BETHEL, Conn. -- What do you get when you put a little mouse, a hairless cat, an eccentric owl and an agoraphobic snail together in a movie? You get "What The Mouse?" a stop-motion short film written and directed by Bethel resident Jhonny Parks that is expected to be released in September 2017. Observant Off-Duty Officer Helps Solve Burglary At Mini Mart In Shelton SHELTON, Conn. -- An arrest was made in the burglary of a Shelton convenience store partially thanks to the work of an observant off-duty police officer. At 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, officers responded to a burglar alarm at Scooter's Deli Mart at 484 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton, police said. Upon arrival, officers discovered the glass was smashed on the front door and the store had been burglarized, police said. Stratford PAL Teams With Fright Haven For Scary Fundraiser STRATFORD, Conn. -- Fright Haven is teaming with Stratford Police Athletic League to invite kids of all ages to check out the haunted house attraction at Stratford Square as part of a Halloween fundraiser. On Wednesday, Fright Haven will throw open the doors to its 20,000-square-foot facility with the proceeds going to Stratford PAL. Alarm Detects Extremely High Level Of Carbon Monoxide In Monroe Home MONROE, Conn. — Monroe volunteer firefighters responding to a report of an activated carbon monoxide alarm discovered an extremely high level of the deadly gas at a home on Moose Hill Road. According to a post on the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department's Facebook page, the residents were not home at the time. But when firefighters arrived at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, they identified an odor in the backyard consistent with an oil furnace malfunction. Student Who Died At Stamford's Wright Tech Identified As Norwalk Teen NORWALK, Conn. -- The student who died unexpectedly on Friday at J.M. Wright Technical High School in Stamford has been identified as 15-year-old Kaydriene Aristhene of Norwalk. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Kaydriene Aristhene," said a Facebook post from Norwalk Public Schools.
