Antonio Gentile, 89, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Antonio Gentile of Stamford died Nov. 19. He was 89.

Born June 16, 1923, in Settefrati, Frosinone, Italy, he was the son of Stefano and Mariamichela Tamburro Gentile. He was married to Teresa Conetta Gentile, who predeceased him.

Gentile is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann (Jim) Bottigliero; a daughter-in-law, Marie Gentile; two brothers, Carmelo Gentile and Agostino Gentile; and three grandsons. He was predeceased by a son, John S. Gentile; two brothers, Giuseppe DelCarmine and Domenico Gentile; and two sisters, Giacinta Socci and Anna DiPreta.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lacerenza Funeral Home in Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Darien.
