Speeding 22-Year-Old Nabbed In Wilton For DUI, Driving On Suspended License, Police Say
A speeding 22-year-old Fairfield County man was charged with allegedly driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.
Pedro Jesus Aguilar Madrid, of Stamford, was stopped on Thursday, Nov. 23, in Wilton driving a Ford Fusion for driving 68 mph in a 30 mph zone, said Wilton Police.
During the stop, Madrid was found to be under the influence of alcohol, said Lt. Anna Tornello, of the Wilton Police.
Tornello said in addition, Madrid's driver's license was suspended, due to a previous DUI arrest.

Police in Connecticut are planning to lay to rest one of their own killed in a violent car crash by an alleged speeding driver.
Hartford Police Detective Robert (Bobby) Garten, age 34, was killed and another officer was severely injured around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, near Asylum Avenue and Cogswell Street, when a speeding driver ran a red light and slammed into his police cruiser, Hartford Police said.

8-Year Police Officer Killed In Crash, Second Injured In Crash Near CT Intersection
One Connecticut police officer was killed and a second is in guarded condition after allegedly being hit by a speeding driver who ran a red light.
The incident took place in Hartford around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, near Asylum Avenue and Cogswell Street, when a speeding driver ran a red light and slammed into a police cruiser, police said.
An eight-year veteran of the Hartford Police Department, Officer Bobby Garten died from his injuries, police said.
Garten, age 34, was a second-generation police officer, officials said. His father was a detective with the department.

Man Killed After Crashing Into Tree At Park In Fairfield County, Police Say
An 80-year-old man was killed after crashing into a tree at a popular park in Fairfield County.
The fatal crash took place in Stamford around 1:50 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20 inside Cummings Park on Shippan Avenue.
During the crash, a 2019 Subaru, which was being operated by the Stamford resident, was traveling eastbound through the park when he failed to negotiate a curve, then sped up, drove through a small parking lot, then struck a tree, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth, of the Stamford Police.

A Fairfield County teen killed in a single-vehicle crash has been identified by police.
Elijah Page, age 17, of Bridgeport, was killed early Wednesday, July 14, when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a guard rail in Trumbull, authorities said.
According to Weir, Page, a graduate of Fairfield Wheeler High School, was driving a 1998 Nissan Sentra Southbound on the Exit 7 ramp from Route 8, when his vehicle did not stop before traveling through the intersection across White Plains Road, and onto Old Town Road where the vehicle struck the guard rail.

A Fairfield County woman was arrested for allegedly fleeing from police when they attempted to stop her for a speeding violation.
Jessica Perez-Chimbo, age 24, of Danbury, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 29, for the incident which took place in Wilton in August, Wilton Police Lieutenant Gregg Phillipson said.

A speeding stop in the area led to the arrest of a teenager who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Darien resident Douglas James Werner, 19, was stopped by a New Canaan Police officer shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, for allegedly speeding in a posted 25 mph zone on Farm Road near the intersection of White Oak Shade Road.
According to police, during the subsequent traffic stop, the officer “detected signs of impairment” in Werner, and he proceeded to fail Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

A traffic stop for speeding led to the arrest of an area man for driving while intoxicated.
James Francois, 42, of Monroe, was arrested around 11:53 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, after being stopped for speeding on Riverside Avenue, said Westport Police.
According to police, a Westport officer was conducting speed limit enforcement on Riverside Avenue when his radar clocked Francois' vehicle traveling northbound on Riverside Avenue above the posted limit.

A 40-year-old man was busted for speeding, while allegedly under the influence in the area of a school and a playground, Milford Police said.
Fernando Monter-Aztatzi of New Haven was stopped for allegedly speeding around 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, on Merwin Avenue, near Anderson Avenue, said the Milford Police.
