Barbershop Blaze: E-Bike Cited As Cause Of Fire That Destroyed Spring Valley Business An E-bike started a fire that destroyed a Hudson Valley barbershop. The fire took place in Rockland County at the Veloz Barbershop on Thursday, June 1, in Spring Valley, said the Ramapo Police. The fire started from an E-bike that was located at the front of the barbershop by the entrance, said Chris Kear, Rockland County Fire Coordinator. "An employee said that she heard loud popping noises turned around and saw the bike on fire and then got everybody out the back door," Kear said. There were no injuries. Building Collapse: 6 Injured, 5 Trapped, 2 Critical In New Haven At least six people were injured when a building under construction partially collapsed, trapping at least five people. The incident took place in New Haven County on Lafayette Street in New Haven around 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 2. New Windsor Woman Airlifted To Hospital After Crash Between Car, Tractor-Trailer A Hudson Valley woman was seriously injured following a crash with a tractor-trailer. The crash took place in Orange County around 11:15 a.m., Thursday, June 1 in the town of Newburgh. According to Lt, Peter Talarico, of the town of Newburgh Police, officers on the scene found an accident involving a 2008 Infinity and a 2002 tractor-trailer. Two Teens Nabbed For Stealing Woman's Purse In Shelton As She Loaded Items In Car Two 16-year-olds were nabbed after allegedly stealing the purse of a 73-year-old Fairfield County woman as she loaded items in her car. The incident took place in Shelton at the Walmart located on Bridgeport Avenue around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31. Search On For Suspects In Stamford Liquor Store Burglary Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying two men who allegedly broke into a liquor store and made off with liquor and cigarettes. The incident took place in Stamford at Wagon Wheel Liquors on Long Ridge Road around 4:20 a.m., on Monday, May 29. According to Stamford Police Sgt. ID Released For 23-Year-Old Hit, Killed By Train In CT Police have released the identity of a man who was hit and killed by an Amtrak train in Connecticut. Hartford County resident Amani Abele Ashley, age 23, of Bristol, was killed around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 30 while walking along the train tracks near the intersection of Surrey Lane in Berlin. According to Berlin Police, responding officers found Ashley on the train tracks with life-threatening injuries and began emergency care, but he died shortly after. Know Him? Man Wanted For Armed Newburgh Robbery Police are asking the public for help identifying an armed man wanted for allegedly robbing a convenience store. The robbery took place in Orange County around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 at the Stewart's Shop in the town of Newburgh. According to Newburgh Police, the man pressed an unknown black object into the back of the cashier and demanded cash and Newport cigarettes. 26-Year-Old Killed In I-95 Crash In Stamford Connecticut State Police are asking for any witnesses to a single-car crash that killed a man on I-95 in Fairfield County. The crash took place in Stamford around 12:25 a.m., Thursday, June 1, on I-95 northbound in the area of Exit 8. A preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Nissan Rouge driven by Massachusetts resident Emmanuel Pierre, age 26, of Worcester left its lane of travel for an unknown reason and struck the metal beam guard rail in the right shoulder approximately a quarter of a mile north of Exit 8, state police said.
