State officials have released the identity of a person killed during a boating accident on the Connecticut River that also injured seven, two of them children. The incident in Middlesex County, in the town of Portland in the area of Gildersleeve Island on Sunday, July 10. The incident took place in Middlesex County in the Town of Portland around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 10. Authorities are on the scene at a portion of the Connecticut River after a report of a body being observed in Western Massachusetts. At approximately 10:05 Sunday, July 3, a call came in reporting the possible body in the river in Chicopee, authorities said. The Chicopee Police Underwater Recovery Team as well as the Holyoke Fire Department are on the scene. Authorities rescued the occupant of a car that drove into a river in Connecticut. The Portland Fire Department in Middlesex County said the dive team responded to a report of a car in the Connecticut River near Harbor Park in Middletown on the evening of Monday, May 16. CT Environmental Conservation Police officers are investigating a boating fatality believed to involve a single jet skier on the Connecticut River. The jet skier was found around 4:45 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 8, in Middlesex County in Haddam, after DEEP received calls from passing boaters of a jet ski adrift near the Salmon River boat launch, said Tony Russell, spokesman for DEEP. Police Searching For Man Who Jumped From Bridge Into Connecticut River
State Police report that a man got out of his vehicle while on a bridge and jumped into the Connecticut River. According to the Windsor Locks Police Department, the man exited the vehicle on Sunday, Jan. 24, around 1 p.m., while on Dexter Coffin Bridge and jumped into the river.
