Shots Fired Into Home Kill Pregnant Woman, Injure Man While They Were Sleeping In Bridgeport A sleeping 22-year-old pregnant woman and her unborn child were shot and killed inside a Fairfield County home overnight. Gunshots rang out on Washington Terrace in Bridgeport shortly after 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, police said. Police said that upon arrival, they found Bridgeport resident Karla Bermudez, who was 23 weeks pregnant, with multiple times.  Her 23-year-old boyfriend was also shot.
