Sports 'Persons Of The Year' Named in Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Olympians from New Canaan, Darien and Fairfield have been named Sports Persons of the Year in their communities and will be honored at the eighth annual Fairfield County Sports Night on Oct. 15.

New Canaan’s Charlie Cole, Darien’s Rob Crane and Fairfield’s Craig Kinsley were chosen by a committee in each town. Each was deemed to have had the most positive impact in their sports community from August 2011 to August 2012. The three competed at the London Games, and Cole won a bronze medal in rowing.

Winners from other Daily Voice communities include Norwalk’s Bryan Daniello, Stamford’s Dan Madwed, Easton’s John Distler, the Greenwich High School boys and girls golf teams, Weston’s Sibyl Ledwick, the Staples High boys indoor and outdoor track teams and Wilton’s Chelsea LeVander.
