FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Teams from Stamford and Norwalk will begin play in the American Legion Junior Tournament. Norwalk's first game is scheduled for Saturday, while Stamford plays its first game on Monday.
Norwalk, the 28th seed, plays at Rockville on Saturday. Norwalk finished 15-12 in Zone 4 while Rockville went 15-9 in Zone 8. If Norwalk wins, it will play at Danbury on Sunday.
Stamford won Zone 4 with a 20-7 record. It will play its first game on Monday at 5 p.m. at Cubeta Stadium against the winner of a game on Sunday. The eight winners of Monday's games advance to a single elimination tournament beginning Wednesday.
