Greenwich Golfer Finishes 3rd at Met Open

Danny Balin of Burning Tree in Greenwich fired a final round 68 and finished tied for third place Thursday at the Met Open Golf Championship at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, N.Y. Balin finished 54 holes at two-under-par 208. Tyler Hall of Packanack won after firing a 3-under-par 67 in the final round.

Balin had three birdies and one bogey as he tried to make a run at the championship. He opened with rounds of 67-73. Balin wrote a series of golf lessons earlier this year for Main Street Connect.

Jerry Courville, playing out of Shorehaven in Norwalk, and Innis Arden pro Ryan Kalista finished tied for 31st with 54-hole totals of 219. Courville carded a 72 in the final round, while Kalista shot 77. Stamford’s Mike Ballo, who plays out of Woodway in Darien, shot 75 in the final round and finished tied for 42nd at 220.
