Teen Accused Of Stabbing Girl Surrenders To Norwalk Police

An 18-year-old man wanted for a stabbing in Norwalk has been arrested after turning himself into police.

The stabbing took place around 7:26 p.m., Saturday, May 4,  on Belden Avenue, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake.

Arriving officers located a female juvenile victim who had been stabbed in the leg. The victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Norwalk Hospital EMS, Blake said.

Officers searched the area for the suspect with the assistance of a Westport Police K9 Unit however he was not located. 

Norwalk Detectives assumed the investigation and quickly determined that Emmanuel Diaz, 18, of Norwalk, had committed the assault, Blake said.

On Sunday, May 5, around 1 a.m., Diaz turned himself in at police headquarters and was charged with the attack, Blake added.

He was charged with assault, risk of injury to a minor, and possession of a deadly weapon, Blake said.

Diaz is being held on $100,000 bond.
