NORWALK, Conn. – Giovanni Barbalinardo, a Norwalk resident and former owner of a Stamford restaurant, died Jan. 3. He was 81.
Born March 9, 1931, in Pisticci, Italy, he was the son of Giuseppe and Vita Maria Barbalinardo. He was married to Natalina Saccardi Barbalinardo, who predeceased him. In Italy, Barbalinardo served in the military and was a member of the police force.
He was the former owner and operator of San Remo Restaurant in Stamford.
Barbalinardo is survived by three children, Massimo (Vilma) Barbalinardo, Mariella Barbalinardo and Pinuccia Barbalinardo; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and a sister.
Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Lacerenza Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk. Burial will be private.
