A Norwalk man was sentenced in federal court to three years in prison for distributing crack cocaine. Jean Andre, 30, pled guilty in January. His arrest followed an investigation by the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force, a cooperative effort of the Stamford Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The six month investigation netted 51 arrests in the Stamford area on narcotics related charges.
According to court documents, Andre purchased approximately 35 grams of crack that he then sold in smaller quantities. At the time of his arrest, he was out on bond for an earlier case involving the alleged sale of marijuana. That case is still pending.
