Norwalk's Heat Wave To Break By Middle Of The Weekend

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The weeklong heat wave should begin to wind down before the close of the weekend in Fairfield County, the National Weather Service said.

Saturday will be partly sunny with a high near 90, but showers and thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning. Temperatures overnight should dip to about 68 degrees. 

Sunday should dawn mostly sunny, with a high near 83 degrees and an overnight low of about 62. Fairfield County has not seen such moderate summer temperatures in more than a week. 

The workweek will open with partly sunny skies and high temperatures of about 82 degrees forecast for nearly every day, a welcome break from the very hot days.
