Travis Simms traded boxing gloves for handcuffs Saturday night. Simms, a former super welter weight champion turned Norwalk Councilman, punched his twin brother Tarvis during an argument at the Councilman's home on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Norwalk.
According to Lt. Paul Resnick of the Norwalk Police, the brothers, 38, argued on Saturday night in a fight that escalated rapidly. Tarvis threatened his brother with a knife. In return, Travis aimed a gun at Tarvis and demanded he leave the Councilmans home.
Travis, who represents District B, was arraigned on Monday on charges of reckless endangerment in the first degree, threatening in the second degree and assault in the third degree.
Police charged Tarvis with assault in the third degree as well as risk of injury to a minor and impairing the morals of a child. The last two charges stem from injuries sustained by Traviss 10-year-old daughter who tried to separate the two men.
