The first northbound departure from New York Penn Station will be Train 194 at 5 p.m. The first southbound departure from Boston South Station will be Train 2259 at 4:10 p.m.
Passengers should expect delays through the New Haven area as a result of the derailed freight train that had been blocking the tracks since early Sunday morning.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - A freight train derailed near New Haven and has blocked Amtrak service from New York to Boston.
There are crews on the scene to clear the tracks as quickly as possible, a statement from Amtrak said Sunday.
Passengers who paid for tickets, but would prefer to not use them can receive a voucher for future travel or a refund.
The service between New York and Washington D.C. has not been affected. And the Springfield Shuttle will operate as scheduled.
