10M Fisher-Price Toys Face Recall

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled more than 10 million Fisher-Price children's toys Thursday. The toy-manufacturing giant has called back toys such as tricycles and play places because of choking hazards and potential to cause serious injuries.

"Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed," the commission said in a statement.

Here is a list of products being recalled:

• 7 million Fisher-Price Trikes and Tough Trikes toddler tricycles

• 100,000 Little People Wheelies Stand 'n Play Rampway

• 950,000 Fisher-Price Healthy Care, Easy Clean and Close to Me High Chairs

• 2.8 million Baby Plazone, Crawl & Cruise Playground, Crawl & Slide Arcade, Baby Gymnastics Play Wall, Ocean Wonders Kick & Crawl Aquarium, 1-2-3 Tetherball and Bat & Score Goal.

"A child can strike, sit or fall on the protruding plastic ignition key, resulting in serious injury, including genital bleeding," the commission said. Fisher-Price and the commission are aware of 10 reported injuries, six of which required medical attention. There were 14 reported injuries involving the Fisher-Price highchairs. Seven of them required stitches and one caused a tooth injury.

In a statement from Fisher-Price General Manager Kevin Curran, the company had identified a number of issues with some of its products and voluntarily recalled specific items. "We are reaching out to parents to help you determine whether you have a recalled product and how to get a replacement part or repair kit," Curran said.
