Keep Kids Busy at the South Norwalk Library

Looking for free educational activites for your children over spring break?  Head to the South Norwalk Library. The library staff has scheduled a lively presentation on Thomas Jefferson. Children will enjoy an opportunity to act out the story of "Jack and the Beanstalk." Kids can also play games and participate in arts and crafts at the library.

Tuesday, April 13, 6- 8 p.m.—  "What's the Big Idea With Thomas Jefferson: 'Creating a Vision for Success in what Matters Most.'" Children will learn about the life and times of the visionary third President of the United States who was the author of the Declaration of Independence. Christina Frei plays the part of Jefferson in this interactive presentation that is scheduled on Jefferson's birthday. This program is sponsored by the City of Norwalk Mayor's Office. It is recommended for ages 8-12 and registration is required. Call 203-899-2790, extension 3.

Friday, April 16, 4pm— ACTING OUT WITH MS. KAREN. Ms. Karen and "Chester," the costume trunk, set the stage for their retelling of "Jack and the Beanstalk"  and "Jack and the Lucky Beans." The program is recommended for ages 3 - 9 and registration is required. Call 203-899-2790, extension 3.

Tuesday,  April 13, 4-5 p.m.—  ARTS & CRAFTS, K-Grade 2. Children will make kites.

Thursday,  April 15, 4-5 p.m.—  ARTS & CRAFTS, Grades 3-5. Children will make masks.

Thursday,  April 15, 12-3 p.m.— COME AND PLAY GAME DAY, Games for children ages 3 - 5: Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Honey Bee Tree, My First Alphabet Game, My First Numbers Game. Games for children ages 5 and up:  Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, Checkers, Connect 4, Guess Who, Scrabble Jr., Uno Spin.
