Carver Students Discover Another Great College

The Carver Center's College Tour continues. After a visit to Tuskegee University, the students visited the second school on their itinerary, Alabama State University. Student-journalist Colen Bell reports:

We arrived at Alabama State University in Birmingham and were greeted by Camille White, a former college student at the Carver Center. Camille is majoring in recreation therapy and she gave us information about her life in college. We met up with our tour guide, Cedric, who was a very dynamic person. A.S.U. was founded in 1867 by nine slaves. Many slaves could not read or write.

I thought the most interesting part of this tour was the department of performing arts. I believe in good talent-- expressing yourself and opening up to people and letting them hear your voice. Alabama State University has a lot of opportunities to offer for those out there who are fortunate to meet the college's admission requirements.

This college is big on two things-- attendance and education. My opinion of this college is that it has that "successful" look. You know you will get the skills to conquer a whole new world.

That pretty much wraps up my article on a good college to attend. I'm reporter Colen Bell representing Rock Climbers and The Carver Center, both in Norwalk.
